Electronic Biography

Pocketwatch is a young Sydney-based rock band with a passion for crafting meaningful music and maintaining a strong, professional image. The band is forging a path by creating quality, melodic and energetic 60s infused power pop and rock tracks with a disarming heavy sound, all the while exhibiting a cutting sartorial edge. Our vision is to build a global presence in the music trade, starting locally and extending internationally, while staying true to our values of quality performance, professionalism, and clean living.

The band was formed in January 2022 when singer/songwriter and guitarist Angus Ross emerged from the post COVID malaise with a batch of songs. He had previously worked with Sam McInerney-Wand [drums] and bassist Jamie Woodward at school in Sydney’s southern suburbs. The band quickly gained momentum supporting heritage acts such a X, The Johnnys and ex-Radio Birdman guitarist Chris “Klondike” Masuak. to name a few, before rapidly graduating to their own headline shows.

The band have released two EPs, their 2023 debut, “It’s Time” featuring Triple J Unearthed punk chart topping “See You Someday”. In 2024 they released “Break Out”, produced at Sydney’s Hercules Street Studios by multi-ARIA producer Wayne Connolly.

Already a road hardened, high octane live act the band has only just turned old enough to attend their own shows unaccompanied. Pocketwatch are serious about having a crack… they are not overawed by bigger stages, as was evidenced by their guest band spot for three days at Sydney’s Metro Theatre and are prepared to grind out their own path.
